The people in the South Tyrol and in the Kronplatz Holiday Region in Pustertal valley - Dolomites in particular are just as well known for organizing spectacular events as they are for celebrating them. And they take every opportunity to do so.

Cold art - sculptures made of snow. Artists from all over the world are coming together to transform inconspicuous 3 x 3 x 3 m large snow cubes into highly imaginative works of art which develop their very own play of colour in the light of the evening illumination. Barbed wire, saws and shovels are the artists’ only tools. Within three days the cubes have to be chiselled and shaped. And you, dear audience, play a really essential role: your votes decide which of the ten teams of artists has created the most beautiful of all these marvellous yet unfortunately ephemeral works of art. The snow sculpture festival will stop off in S. Vigilio di Marebbe.
