The Gsieser Tal is a side valley of the the Pustertal between the mountain chain of the Riesenferner and the Defregger Alps. A well constructed road goes from Welsberg towards the north through an 18-km-long valley past the villages of Pichl, St. Martin and St. Magdalena. Taisten is situated above Welsberg.
