Kronplatz - Plan de Corones
Pfalzen
The original name of Pfalzen was probably Phalenza deriving from the Latin term Palatium. There might have been a fort at the time of the Romans. At the time of the peasants’ revolt in 1525 the vicarage was despoiled. The plague haunted Pfalzen as well as most other parts of the Pustertal in 1636. The beautiful residence of Sichelburg got its name from the two sickles of its owners’ emblems and was also incorporated into the emblem of Pfalzen.
