Bruneck Castle in the Pustertal Valley has opened its doors to the fifth Messner Mountain Museum, dedicated entirely to the subject of mountain peoples. This is the place where world-renowned mountaineer Reinhold Messner tells the visitor about the relationship between people and the mountains in its ultimate sense: the legacy of people who have lived in the mountains since the beginning of time.

Opening hours:
from 26 December to 25 April from 12 a.m. to 6 p.m. and from the second Sunday in May to 1 November from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. - last entry at 5 p.m.
Closed on Tuesdays.

„Vi cun me tl museum“ - Come to the museum with me!“ This is Ladin and the museum which was opened in 2001 deals with the life and culture of the Ladin people. It also deals with the language of the five Ladin valley communes in the Southern Alps which gives the Ladin people a feeling of identity. The tower of the 12th cenury has its own charm: intimate and homelike. A museum with lots of esprit and from a didactic point of view well thought through.

The Mansio Sebatum archaeology museum is South Tyrol’s first museum dedicated entirely to Roman times in the Southern Alps. On a total of four floors, the collection tells fascinating stories about the Mansio Sebatum road station. Many curious and extraordinary finds in and around St. Lorenzen as well as new research data about the Iron age and Roman times paint a vivid picture of life at this official stopping place on a Roman road.
