Once again the soap box derby takes place just beneath the Castle Mountain of Bruneck. Thousands of visitors followed this great event in the last years.
Lots of hobbyists were screwing, sawing and hammering weeks before the actual race in order to put together their unique vehicle. Their aim was to construct their soap boxes as streamlined as possible to master the race track as fast as can be. The soap boxes aren’t motor-driven. The steep platform at the start helps the acceleration and the rest depends on gravity!
A total of 60 participants of different categories are expected this year. The winner is awarded some trophy money. Anyone can participate!
