Nordic Walking
Trend and lifestyle
Do you still think it’s silly to use
walking poles? Why don’t you try them out during your
Kronplatz holiday? The amazing thing about Nordic walking is that 80 % of the back, chest and arm muscles are worked out, whereas in conventional walking without poles these parts of the body are often neglected totally. Using your arms usually increases the walking pace. The faster pace improves the
cardio-vascular function. The arm movements intensify your breathing and thus enhance the oxygen consumption. Furthermore, poles take some of the strain off your legs and joints.
Nordic walking is the perfect sport for people of all ages and heights and can be practised anywhere at any time of the year and without major effort. What’s more, the body burns 400 calories per hour compared to 280 in poleless walking!
