22.04.2012 - "Locknfescht" - the puddle party

Location: Kronplatz, slope "Seewiese"
Time: 10 a.m.

After one year’s pause it will be staged again, this unique, unparalleled event on Kronplatz - the "Locknfescht”. This soaking wet spectacle shall mark the end of the skiing season with participants jumping into the cold water. It all started over a decade ago when a group of locals tried to cross the small pond, which forms from the melted snow in the Seewiese on Kronplatz every spring. Over the past twelve years the big puddle has grown bigger and bigger since it has been fed with additional amounts of water. The pond and the event have become famous far beyond the borders of South Tyrol. The Locknfescht is a most crazy event indeed. Cars without wheels, beds, bath tubs, sky rockets, desks, deckchairs and parasols, compositions of tyres, semi-nudes or fully uniformed daredevils as well as an abundance of rideable, slideable or rollable vehicles have all come down the slope and tried to make their way over the pond. It goes without saying that the event is always spiced up by hip music and plenty to eat and drink! If you want to try it by yourself please contact the Kronplatz ski school for registration: info@school-kronplatz.it , tel. +39 0474 548474

10.02.2012 - Red Bull Kronplatz Cross

Location: Kronplatz, Valdaroa-Olang (Gassl)
Time: starting from 6.30 pm

Thrills galore at Kronplatz!

Another spectacular competition at Kronplatz: the ski cross night race, a cutting-edge relay race.
It's the Red Bull Kronplatz Cross debut event in South Tyrol. On 10 and 11 February 2012, Kronplatz will be the venue of the very first of a series of breath-taking ski cross events sponsored by Jeep®, the legendary synonym for off-road and outdoor fun.

For the Red Bull Kronplatz Cross race, several teams of skiers have to first master a steep slope and then make their way past a number of obstacles to get to the finish line. But to make the event really spectacular, the traditional ski cross discipline has had to undergo a "makeover": On 10 February, three teams at a time will compete to qualify for the four-team finals the evening after. The contest is open to everyone. However, because of the difficulty level of the slope, all participants must be good skiers... and of course dare-devils!

Program:

Friday, 10.02.2012:

4.30 pm-5.30 pm: introduction
6.00 pm-7.00 pm: training
8.00 pm-10.00 pm: qualification
