Pleasure on the Pustertal Valley Bike Route

On the slight descent between Brunico-Bruneck and Fortezza-Franzensfeste, the tires glide easily over the asphalt.

The Rienz river = the main waterway of the Val Pusteria. The Rienza can be explained that unemotionally, but then the true essence of the river is lost. At its source, the Rienza still hops from stone to stone, the water is clear and cold, trout feel right at home here. The bicycle path accompanies the course of the river on its way westward, toward Bressanone-Brixen. The Val Pusteria bicycle path ends right at the spot where you get tired and where, with the sensory impressions now completely filled, you climb into the train, in order to be brought back to your starting point while completely relaxed.

E
Explore fascinating landscapes by bike

The total of around 300 km (200 miles) of the branched network lead all the way to Lienz in East Tyrol, Austria.  It leads to San Vigilio, San Martin, into the Valle di Casies-Gsieser Tal and the Valle Anterselva-Antholzertal. Some thirty places to rent bicycles, the MobilCard – the combined ticket for the train, bus, and rented bike – and the bike taxi all provide support with the individual arranging of your own bicycle excursion. Cities and villages along the bicycle path as well as adventure stations offer rewarding destinations for day trips filled with impressions.

B
Bicycling made very easy

How nice it is when technology supports experiencing nature in the Val Pusteria. The silent electric motor takes over the sweat-inducing effort. The bicyclist is then free to enjoy the supported motion. Pedelecs (also known as e-bikes) are being offered at more and more bicycle rental locations and bring an enjoyable bike trip within reach of everyone.
