Q
Quiet hiking

A hiking paradise in any season: even the winter world of the Kronplatz Holiday Region can be wonderfully experienced on foot on pleasant groomed paths. A gentle crunch. Otherwise nothing. A thick snow cover swallows every sound, and all that remains is a wintry, agreeable silence. Guessing about animal tracks, watching the steam as it rises up out of a thermos, squinting at the gleaming carpet of snow crystals, and then laughingly giving a fir tree a shake and jumping out of the way before its load of snow hits the ground. Discovering winter on foot turns even the most jaded grownup into a kid again.

B
Be enchanted by the nature

In the Val Pusteria-Pustertal valley and its side valleys, winter is also a great time to go hiking. Away from the chaos of the ski slopes and out of earshot from the après-ski, countless winter hiking trails are waiting for your footprints. Between the Dolomites and the mountain giants of the Antholzertal valley, winters are still the way they ought to be: white and filled with idyllic magic.

C
Carefree & relaxation

Winter hiking is in fact the most uncomplicated variety of winter sports. Without any snowshoes, poles, or helmets, winter hikers set out completely carefree in the truest sense of the word, in order to discover the most beautiful corners of the Kronplatz Holiday Region. They will find groomed hiking trails and paths through fields primarily in the valley areas: in Falzes-Pfalzen, sunny hiking trails run through the winter world, near S. Lorenzo-St. Lorenzen, they leisurely lead over gentle hills; in the Valle di Casies-Gsieser Tal, they bring hikers up to Alpine pastures and farms. And in Rasun-Rasen in the Valle Anterselva-Antholzertal, in Valdaora-OlangTesido-Taisten, and near S. Vigilio di Marebbe-St. Vigil in Enneberg, winter hiking trails lead through high snowdrifts that tower up on both sides. That is winter at its truest depths!
