At the head of the valley in S. Maddalena/Val Casies Valley (1460m, refreshment facilities, parking fee), you will find the parking lot from where the walk starts. Follow trail marker No. 49 going into the valley, immediately after the turner's workshop continue straight ahead into the woods. After an hour's walk you will reach the destination of the walk, the Messnerhütte hut (1660m, refreshment available). Possible descent along the squirrel path.
