From the tourist office in Monguelfo (1087m) walk through the center of the village, past the music pavilion at the Central Square and continue to the bridge crossing the Rio di Casies. Following the sign Great Castle Tour after approx. 50 minutes, turn right, continue the route and turn right at the crossroads. After a short climb and a wide loop through the meadows you continue through the forest. You go past Castel Welsperg, through the school center to return to the starting point. Along the route around the castle, the short climb to the Thurn Ruin is also worthwhile.
