Starting from the valley head in San Maddalena/Val Casies Valley (1460m, refreshment point, parking) follow the trail marking no. 47/48 over the bridge of the Pidig stream. Turn left and take a right after the Schlosser Hof farm. The hiking trail leads through an old cattle drive into the Tscharniet Valley. This path excels with a view on the sled run and the soothing backdrop of the Tscharniet stream. Following the forest path no. 47 you will reach the Köfler Alm (1808m). Cross the stream on a narrow footbridge, and after an approximately 20 minutes walk you will get to the Stumpfalm (2001m, refreshment point).
