Eye to eye with the Plan de Corones-Kronplatz. Pure fun in the snow, only without the hordes of people, but rather right in the middle of the fabulously beautiful, gentle, quiet Fanes-Senes-Braies/Fanes-Sennes-Prags Nature Park. Across from Valdaora-Olang’s own local mountain, the Piz da Peres (2,507 m/8,225 ft. above sea level) towers into the sky, a rewarding destination for ski tourers. Because from the cross on the summit, a splendid 360° view is available of the most beautiful of mountain peaks that the Alps can pride themselves on, such as the Sassongher, the famous Tre Cime-Drei Zinnen, and the close-by Punta Tre Dita-Dreifingerspitze (2,478 m/8,130 ft. above sea level). The latter may already be set by passionate ski tourers as their next rewarding goal.
But let’s start from the beginning: anyone who is staying in Valdaora can start these moderately difficult ski tours to the Piz da Peres or the Punta Tre Dita at the Passo di Furcia-Furkelpass and then first of all leave their tracks through the dense forests. Higher up, well-marked trails lead over at times very steep scree cirques and broad meadow slopes approximately 750 meters (2,500 feet) higher to the corresponding destination.
For every ski tour, the following applies: be absolutely certain to inform yourself about the avalanche risks, and always bring along good equipment and reliable friends on the tour!
