For over 30 years, Josef Taschler has dedicated himself to woodturning – a craft rooted in farming tradition. In his workshop in St. Magdalena, he creates bowls, lampshades, candle holders, and boxes from local woods. Each piece is unique and full of character. Visits are possible by phone appointment only, as the farm is also in operation.

Tip
Bowl turning was a widespread occupation in the Val Casies Valley. In the 15th and 16th centuries, the use of stone pine was even restricted by the authorities to preserve the tree population.

Arrival

From the Head of the valley in the Gsiesertal Valley, follow the road to the Rotmoos parking area.
