Directions
From the paid parking above the Mudler mountain inn in Taisten (1622 m, dining available), follow trail marker No. 38 A leading to the Taistner Alm (2012 m, dining available). From here, continue northeast on trail No. 38 over alpine pasture moderately steep up to Klenkboden (2186 m). Still following marker No. 38, descend slightly almost to the Taistner Hinteralm (1955 m, no dining available). Just before this, turn to Ochsenhütte (2124 m) and from there climb moderately steep to steep over the southeast and south ridge to the summit cross of the Amperspitze (2687 m).
Descent: The descent is via the ascent route. Alternatively, descent is possible via Ampertörl to the Samburg Alm and through the Karbachtal valley to St. Martin, from where you can take the bus back to Taisten.
