Powerful yet serene, the Peace Bell Concordia 2000 rests on the Kronplatz summit. Designed by Val Gardena-born artist Paul de Doss-Moroder and inaugurated in 2003 to mark the ski area’s 25th anniversary, it is dedicated to Saint Bernard, patron saint of skiers and mountaineers. As one of the largest peace bells in the Alpine region, Concordia 2000 stands as a reminder of connection, responsibility and our shared desire for peace. Every day at noon – and also whenever the death penalty is abolished in a country or a war comes to an end – its sound resonates across the summit, while your gaze drifts from the viewing platform over an impressive 360° panorama. A view that captivates and lingers, as Kronplatz lies at the very heart of it all – between the majestic Dolomites and the imposing Alpine divide.
