We know. You can't wait to reach the peaks of our mountains. But before you set off, there are a few things you need to keep in mind in order to ensure your safety – no matter whether it's an easy or a difficult tour:

 

  • Check the weather conditions and plan carefully before starting your tour.
  • Make sure your equipment is complete and working properly.
  • Never overestimate your fitness and choose trails that suit your abilities.
  • Do not leave the signposted trails.
  • Schedule regular breaks to fortify yourself during and after your physical efforts.
  • Get in touch with alpine schools or qualified mountain guides if you are not yet experienced enough and want to practise safety techniques or sure-footedness.
